Reed Blakemore is the Assistant Director for Business Development and New Ventures at the Atlantic Council. Prior to joining the Council, Reed was a research intern at the International Institute for Strategic Studies-US where he worked on transnational conflict and defense issues, including civil-military affairs in Pakistan and sub state conflict in northeast India. He has also held internships at the United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee and at European Parliament. Reed graduated with an MA in Security Policy Studies from the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs in 2015 with concentrations in Transnational Security and Defense Analysis, and received Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Redlands. Reed studies the intersection between non-state actors, geopolitics, and grand strategy, and has written on several international security issues, including Iran’s use of transnational networks in Latin America.
